Big thanks to Heidi for taking our family pictures once more.  She is the best!!!

We inherited a small Christmas tree from Luke's mom.  When he grew up, they each had a tree like this in their rooms.  I decided it might be a nice tradition to keep in our family, and we decorated on Sunday.

All our decorations came from Dollarama, and it is a good thing I didn't spend much on them because Tracen has already put that tree-topping star through a good beating.  We had to fight him to leave the star on the tree.

I guess you could say we are pretty excited about Christmas here!

Photobucket As you can see, he didn't want to leave it on the tree. He wanted to show JJ on the computer -  lately Tracen has been really into Skype, Gmail hangouts, and Facetime.

We usually go for a walk to the mailbox, when the weather is not too cold.  Tracen loves walks, and although outside is covered in snow, this is all the snow that he would play with.  His favorite part about coming inside after we are outside is finding the snow on the carpet that was on our shoes - he could care less about the piles of it everywhere else.

Oh and little our dual citizenship family is thankful today! Happy American Thanksgiving!

Halloween 2012

We carved a pumpkin - Tracen liked to put the seeds back INTO it, instead of taking them out.

Luke loves every excuse to wear this costume.
There were so many options of what Tracen would be for Halloween - I wanted to make him something that would be simple and easy.  Becaue of his body proportions, I thought he would make a good garden gnome.

Too bad the mustache didn't last...

We took him around to a few houses in the cul-de-sac and he was mostly excited by all the dogs he could hear barking.  Luke was happy to be 'back in the game' and receiving free candy.

Is it just me, or do all Halloweens end like this?

Boy and his Apple

If given the chance, Tracen will carry an apple around with him.

It becomes like a friend, and each time he drops it and it rolls off, he goes and picks it up and usually it has rolled to something new and interesting for him to play with.

The only problem is that he doesn't really like swallowing apple peels and mostly just likes sucking the juice out of the apple pieces, resulting in bits of apple and apple peel everywhere

But it makes this little boy happy

And when he is happy - I am happy!

(Here is his apple with a collection of other goods he picked up along the way)

Fall - so far

We have finally settled into a fairly regular routine:
it includes lots of playing, making and eating food, and mostly doing homework (for  me).

Taking 9 credits online has proved to be more time consuming and difficult than I had initially thought, however, we are managing!  Not only are we managing but we've had some pretty great blessings come into our lives.
We've gone to the Calgary Temple Open House multiple times, with family and with friends.  We have a very happy baby that is sleeping good through the nights.  And - I got an unexpected scholarship.

We are certainly continually learning and growing.

Tracen and I went to the zoo a few weeks back with Grammie and Trisha and Hudson.

The boys sure enjoyed seeing all the animals.

Tracen is quite the expressive little boy - he shows all his emotions on his face

For some reason Luke taught him how to furrow his brow, for a few days he gave everyone this look.
 He still loves bath time.
He is constantly asking "what's that?" And when he's satisfied with the answer, he says "Ohh"
On Thanksgiving, we bundled him up and went for a walk in the ravine.

I suppose it might be a new Thanksgiving tradition, as we did the same thing the year before. Its hard to believe Tracen was ever that little.

baby shower - long overdue

I was just looking through things on my blog and found this draft of a blog with pictures from my amazing baby shower that was about 13 months ago.

I am so blessed with such wonderful friends (practically family) that threw this shower for me and Tracen...  We were spoiled and the food was great.

better late than never right?
