BBA2 update

 How awkward are these pictures??

26 ish weeks

27 weeks

28 weeks

I am feeling larger than life these days, and I am only 29 + a few days along.  I think my body is great at remembering what it had to do for Tracen, and was eager to get back into that shape.  But - I am glad that I have some energy these days, Luke was thrilled that I was able to stay awake through a whole movie this past weekend, because he doesn't remember when that happened last.  Besides having some weird lingering cough/cold/sinus/whoknows thing since Christmas that keeps coming back full force and some days with sciatica pain that kept me on the couch I am feeling good.  I have also had a few moments of embarrassment when I find myself out of breath from carrying Tracen a short distance.

I am starting to worry (panic) that we will never find a name for this little guy, but I just hate looking at lists of names trying to imagine a little face and personality I don't know yet.

I also happy because I took my glucose test and passed??? The doctor never called me, so I am just assuming I passed, which is great, because I hated my (false) diagnosis last pregnancy and having to test my blood every couple hours.

I have started to feel the nesting coming in, and my list of projects I want to do are all big ones, and more based around getting our house settled and organized and less to do with anything for the baby - is that bad?

I am craving pizza everyday, and from Pizza Hut, which is weird.  For some reason my roasted brussel sprouts yesterday didn't take away that craving...

I am excited for a newborn to cuddle with, and to see Tracen with his long awaited baby brother, he loves babies and I just hope that he remembers that when this baby is here to stay.

Christmas part 2

Good thing Angie took some pictures, or I wouldn't have any.  Here is a mish-mash of the time spent at my parents over Christmas.   We got to go see the live nativity, after we had acted it out at home.  Check out some of the great actors:

They adored baby Jesus, even the inn-keeper (Tracen) couldn't stay away.

Tracen and Meika are just 4 days apart, and have an interesting frenemy type relationship.  This is after Christmas morning mayhem, which Tracen enjoyed, but had a hard time leaving one present to open another.  We sure were spoiled!
We were lucky to have Grandma there to spend Christmas with us.
And she brought my Dad's coat from Grandpa, and we finally put the zipper in Luke's.

And we got to go on a girl date - with Erika missing - and it was a lot of fun and delicious.
Luke and I both realized how much we love Calgary while we were home, it really is such a beautiful place, and nice city.  Maybe one day we will be back, but it sure makes a great place to visit too!

Christmas part 1

I have had pictures saved as a draft for a couple of weeks now, hoping that I would upload the rest of the pictures from my camera... I figured I better just post them and not wait.

We had a wonderful Christmas at home in Calgary.  We were sure kept busy for the 10 days we were there, and as usual - we didn't get to see everyone or do everything we had intended.

We went for a sleigh ride with Luke's family and were blessed with some great weather, and it was really fun.  Tracen loved to watch the dogs chase after our horses... and the pictures on the actual sleigh are on my camera.

Then we went to the golf course for food and fun.  We sang some carols, played the hand-bells, struggled to sing along, acted out the nativity, had a gift exchange, and then ended the night with a dance party. Tracen loved to play with his cousins.

Then back to Grammy and Papa's for bed in Christmas PJ's.

Highlights of 2013 (minus Christmas)

2013 was a great year for us, full of lots of fun memories and changes galore! We learned lessons of patience, faith, hard work and family.  Here is a brief recap of some of the highlights from the year (not in any order, that would have taken a lot of thought and time):

1.  Our last first days of school

Mine was in January, and Luke's was in April.  It really was a miracle that we were able to finish school with Tracen and only had to have a babysitter for 4 hours a week for 3 months.  What a miracle!

 2.  Our first family camping trip

3. Daily trips to the park and splash park

 4.  Luke and I turned 25

I turned 25 in January, and Luke in June - he always calls me a cougar

5. A trip to Arizona

Tracen learned to love the water, and Luke and I were able to go see The Postal Service

6.  A weekend trip to Hawaii (Tracen and I) for a beautiful wedding

Jamie made a great video of our whirlwind weekend

7.  A trip home for Jacqui and Raj's wedding

8.  Making some life long friends

Our friendships made in Rexburg are special to us, making it hard to leave.  Tracen made his first friends there and talks about them all the time.

9.  We graduated!!!!

 10. First time riding a horse pony

11.  A trip to Disneyland and journey up the coast to BC

I realize I have never really posted about this trip.... it was our first trip there as a family and probably not our last.  And Luke bought a fanny pack and wore it proudly (to my dismay).

 12. Saying good-bye to Grandpa Joe, Uncle Jim, Auntie Helen Ikebuchi and a few others

What a year to reflect on why we are here, and how lucky we are to be blessed with so many wonderful people in our lives.

13.  Adding to our family part 1

We found out we would be adding another boy to our family, part 2 to come in the new year with his arrival

14.  Tracen turns 2

And makes the cutest little elephant (i never posted these pictures of him in his costume)

 15.  We moved and bought our own place!
