Museum - MLK day

It was a snowy Martin Luther King Day and Luke had to work, so the boys and I ventured to the Museum.  Driving there, I felt regret about being on the roads, but we survived.  Mylo is now feeling independent and it made for a tough time for me and boys running in all directions, but it was fun to see their excitement (I just wish I could have channelled it all into the same direction).  We didn't stay as long as I had planned, because I was just worn out, but the chances to go to the museum when it isn't too busy WITH Tracen just don't come up all that often.

Allred cousins

We love all our cousins and we tried to spend some quality time with each of Luke's siblings.  I missed out on our visit with Seth and Heidi and didn't have my camera at Jordan and Trishas.   But the boys have been talking non-stop about the funny things Corban did, or the nice way Akiyah played perfection with them etc etc. I was nervous about Rai being aggressive towards Martin, but luckily he wasn't and they got along great (doing what they were instructed to do by Tracen). Hudson and Tracen are always like two peas in a pod when together and loved all the time they had to play at Hudsons and at Grammie and Papa's.  Iyla and Elyn tried to get Rai to play with them, but he is at his "no girls" phase in his life.   We are a little jealous that all these cousins get to play all the time, but we love when we get to join in a bit.

Takahashi cousins

Time spent with family is so precious.  The boys love to be around their cousins. Rai loved the babies way too hard, usually someone ends up crying, but he just loves them so much.  He would grab onto Hiro and just hug him and hug him.  Him and Reiko have this weird dynamic between them, and they both love to pick on each other (mostly Rai on her) but since we have been home he tells me often how he misses her.  Tracen has recently been more interested in little kids and playing with them and helping them and one day played and entertained REiko for quite a while (getting her to follow him and make music) and Reiko and Mylo just like to copy each other and get along really well.  One day Mylo surprised us by just sitting on Miles like he was a horse.  It made us laugh so hard.

New Years

On December 30th, the stars aligned and Kaiti, Kandice, Caitlyn and I were all in town and could meet up with Katelyn for breakfast (we sure missed Katie and Jess).  Us girls have been friends our whole lives (well Kaiti moved in when we were 3 and jess when we were 12ish).  I hadn't seen Caitlyn probably since Tracen was a baby and we haven't all been together for probably about that long or longer.   I am always so grateful for the great supportive and amazing girls I grew up with.  Even though we don't live close, I feel like we are still so supportive and understanding of each other.

Later that night Kandice, Kaiti and I took a trip to Peters, and then to Palmers new condo for some girl time.  We laughed and we caught up on everything and then headed back to Pratts for some fun with Colin and Alexa and Connor.

Man, a night with these girls was just what I needed.

I left and Luke was working on this puzzle (that he didn't think he would like to do) and when I came home he was still working on it.

The next day him and Grandma literally spent hours together working on it.

Dad made Chinese food for new years eve.  And it was as good as it always is when he makes it, it has been a while since he has made it, and I was so happy to have some homemade Chinese.

ON New Years day we made a pineapple upside down cake to celebrate Grandpa's birthday.

We thought it was fun that we were all matching.

The puzzle actually got finished too.
