Brother moments from May 2018

1.  fort building, book reading and room playing

2.  Trip one of many to Home Depot to get our yard feeling a lot better

3. Tracen planned this indoor brother picnic

4. On our walk that we try to take at least 3 times a week.

5.  We collected some "nature" for our nature press

6.  Bike to school day.  It ended with me carrying Mylo, Tracens scooter and pushing Rai on the scooter back to the car.

7.  First grade field day.  It was a hot hot day and by lunch Tracens class was on full on meltdown mode.  But we went and got some subs and slurpees and Tracen managed to make it through the rest of the day.

Two Ponds Adventure

One of our favorite little nature parks to explore is Two Ponds. It is only open in the summer, and holds memories of the boys and my mom and sister seeing a rattling rattlesnake there.  I have been doing this photography course (just for fun to take better pictures, and I am happier when I am engaged in learning things) and so I brought the camera along to snap some pictures.   We saw lots of birds, some tadpoles and lots of signs of spring with summer coming in hot.

Mylo learned from his brothers how to make a wish on a dandelion.

And I just wanted a shot of Tracen and his socks, his worn out shorts and shoes.  He is such a joy to be around, with questions and information pouring out of him at all times.

And seriously, why and how are my boys always hungry and in the pantry and fridge?

Learning to ride a bike and scooter - May 11, 2018

Last Friday night the boys helped Luke to mow the lawn, and we all just wanted to stay outside and enjoy the beautiful evening.  I had on my summer bucket list that we needed to get Tracen to learn how to ride a two wheeler.  Neither Tracen or Rai have ever shown any interest in riding anything.  And Tracen started to be embarrassed about the fact that he couldn't ride a two wheeler, so he never wanted to try.  Well, by some miracle, Luke casually asked Tracen if he wanted to ride his bike, and he agreed.  And then after probably 15 minutes of helping him, he figured it out.  YAY!  And Rai finally tried riding a scooter.  I know some kids love all that stuff, but not our boys at all, so this was huge.   It was such a fun family night.
